    Dr. Scott S. Porter, Ph.D. ABPP, is a distinguished clinical neuropsychologist, certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology. Specializing in neuropsychological assessment, Dr. Porter is licensed to practice in both Florida and Hawaii.

    Dr. Porter’s journey to Florida was paved with numerous clinical roles. Prior to his move, he served as a Pediatric Neuropsychologist in Hawaii and held the position of Clinical Director at The Concussion Center of Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic for three years, and is a forensic expert along with FAA evaluator. He devoted 14 years as a pediatric neuropsychologist at the Sanford Healthcare Neuroscience Center in the Midwest, where he was an instrumental consultant for various departments including the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Hospital, and Pediatric Neurorehabilitation Service.

    Known for his range of experience, Dr. Porter is experienced in the diagnostic assessment of various neuropsychological conditions. These include traumatic brain injury, pediatric cerebral vascular disorders, pediatric cancer, hematological conditions, genetic disorders, and ADHD, to name a few. His specializations extend to assessing prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal brain injuries, and evaluating the impact of teratogen exposure and toxic exposure.

    Dr. Porter takes pride in tailoring specific recommendations for children’s educational programming, behavioral health, and neurocognitive development. His extensive academic journey includes graduate work in Behavioral Neurobiology and Clinical Neuropsychology at Brigham Young University, an APA approved Division 40 Internship at the Audi L. Murphy Veteran’s Health Care System, and post-doctoral fellowship at the Neurodevelopment Center in Salt Lake City.

    Dr. Porter’s rich professional experiences also include roles at the University of California Davis, MIND Institute, North Shore Mental Health Practicum in Hawaii, and a stint as a visiting professor at Westminster College in Utah. For a decade, he represented Division 40 Neuropsychology in the Interdivisional Healthcare Committee of the American Psychological Association. In addition to his professional accolades, Dr. Porter has enriched the world of academia and culture as the author of a popular science newspaper for children and a musician with diverse tastes.

It is a distinctive feature of our practice to offer the expertise of board clinical neuropsychologists since there are not many board certified neuropsychologists in private practice, but primarily in academic medical centers and hospitals.  While board certification is not required to practice neuropsychology, Saible Neuropsychology prioritizes the highest standards of care and professionalism to ensure you or your loved one’s overall wellbeing.  Within our practice, Dr. Shivani Saible and Dr. Scott Porter are both board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) and American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology (AACN).
